Gyalwa Karmapa at the Golden Jubilee Dhamma

Following an invitation
of the Golden Jubilee Dhamma
Diksha Samaroh Organizing Committee, His
Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje visited Bhopal
from 19th to 22nd November, 2005. On arrival at Raja
Bhoj
Airport, Bhopal, His Holiness was received by Shri
Rajesh Mishra, Protocol Officer, State Govt.,
Shri Anwar Mohammad
Khan, Chairman, Shri Indash
Gajbhiye, Member of the State Minorities Commission,
Members of the Organizing Committee and a large number of devotees.
Shri
Sunil Sood, City Mayor called on His Holiness at the
Lake View Ashok Hotel where His Holiness stayed as
guest of the State. Other callers included Ms. Meenakship
Natrajan of Nehru Yuva
Kendra and Father Anand
Mutungal, Chief Editor of the Hindu Daily Bhaskar,
Hindustan Times Correspondent D. Ghosh and
Electronic Media (Sahara, ETC and Raj) who all
covered the visit and interviewed His Holiness.
His Holiness inaugurated the Golden Jubilee
Samaroh at Samanvaya
Bhawan on 20th November, 2005. The
ceremony was presided over by Dr. Bhalchandra
Mungekar, Planning Commission, Govt. of India and
attended by Shri Shivraj
Singh Chauhan, Member of Parliament,
Retd. Justice V.H. Bhairav,
Bombay High Court, Shri Indersh
Gajbhiye, Member State Minority Commission,
distinguished guests and large number of delegates. Addressing the conference,
His Holiness recalled that Dr. Bhimrao
Ambedkar fought against discrimination and worked
for the establishment of social order based on the principles of liberty,
equality and fraternity.
A
large crowd waited for blessings from His Holiness at the conference hall and
the hotel where he stayed.
