Bordo is a little village in the mountains of the North Italian Alps. It was founded in the 17th century. The origin inhabitants left the village in the fifties last century. Shamar Rinpoche gave the name Karma Dechen Yang Tse Ling in 1981. Now it is run by a community which was founded 1983 in Switzerland.
